YOUTH STARS OF BICHITRA INC. Bichitra Inc. congratulates the following High School Seniors who are graduating this summer, and wishes them a bright future ahead! Aurko Joshi is the 2010 Graduate of Detroit Country Day School. Tennis has been his most profound passion. He has the All State honor at #1 singles position in Michigan . Under his captaincy, his team won the MHSAA State Championship Trophy. As a musician, Aurko is French Horn and Trumpet player. He has won several medals, honors and accolades from MSBOA and the school for his skill in these two instruments. He has participated in Symphony Band and the pit Orchestra. In addition to his high school graduation, Aurko will receive the International Bachelorette diploma. This fall (2010) he will pursue his career ambitions at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor . Debnita (Misha) Talapatra, class of 2010 is graduating from Novi High School this year. She will attend University of Michigan to pursue her undergraduate degree in Science. She has been an honor roll student throughout her school years. Apart from academic, she is also a trained Indian classical dancer. She has learnt Bharatnatyam for six years and is learning Odissi for past three years. She is an active youth member of Bichitra Inc and as she says, she loves to be a part of BINC. Josh Barman is graduating from Novi High School this year. Throughout his high school curriculum, he continued to keep his grades up, joined Spanish Club and National Honor Society, and participated on the track team. He has been volunteering at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, and he has also volunteered for several other organizations. He has also started a nonprofit organization called GIFTS (Great Instruction for the Soul) with his brother, Rick. Some of his other hobbies include reading, fishing, and playing card games and pool. After high school, he plans to attend University of Michigan to study biomedical engineering and later attend Medical School . Rick Barman is graduating from Novi High School this year. He has maintained his high GPA of 3.9 while working hard for Novi Wildcat swim team. He has studied Japanese for 4 years and participates in Japanese Club and National Honor Society. He has also taken part in Japanese Quiz Bowl for two years. He is the founder of a nonprofit organization called GIFTS (Great Instruction for the Soul) with his brother, Josh. He also enjoys reading, fishing, and playing card games and pool. After high school, he plans to attend University of Michigan to study aerospace engineering. Ishan Biswas, currently an AP Scholar, will graduate from Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor in June 2010. Maintaining a 3.92 GPA, Ishan has completed six AP courses and the Calculus II (Honors) course at the University of Michigan. Ishan, who plays competitive soccer for Canton Celtics in the Midwest Regional League, will be attending the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in fall 2010. While he is still undecided about his major, Ishan's future plan is to be involved in the field of medicine. Rohan Biswas received his undergraduate degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics in December 2009 from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Rohan, a National Merit Finalist, attended the university on academic scholarship. An avid sports fan and a decent basketball player, Rohan has been accepted to multiple medical schools for fall 2010. He will join the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD-PhD Program) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, Bronx, NY. As an MSTP student, Rohan will be fully funded for the duration of both the PhD and the MD programs. Hometown Girl RICHA becomes a Movie Star in India ! Way to Go Girl! Richa Gangopadhyay, daughter of Utpal and Paula Gangopadhyay brought fame to Michigan when she won Miss India USA title in 2007. Since then, there has been no looking back for this determined young lady who took the leap of faith and moved to Mumbai , India in September 2008 to pursue fashion and films. Richa graduated with a diploma in acting from Anupam Khers Actor Prepares and soon landed some national brand ads like Dabur Vatika Hair Oil with Preity Zinta. Recently, she debuted in a Telegu film Leader which had a worldwide release and is still breaking box office records in Hyderabad , India . The movie played for four straight weeks at the Novi Town Center theatres that regularly showcase Indian movies in the metro-Detroit area. It also released in more than 80 theatres in the USA and as many in the UK drawing huge non-resident Indian audiences. The movie was directed by national award-winning Director in Southern India , Sekhar Kammula and launched a new male debut RANA whose grandfather, Rama Naidu has secured a name in the Guinness Book of World Records for producing the largest number of films in the world. Richa as the debuting female lead in this much awaited movie has become a star overnight, winning huge applause for her performance oriented acting in the movie. Right after the release and because the audiences so loved her performance, Richa was swamped by the media. In less than a month she gave over 130 plus media interviews and graced many key events. She is already on the cover of WOW magazine as well as in South Scope Magazine that mention her being from Michigan , USA . She recently launched her own website, www.richagangopadhyay.com in a press meet in Hyderabad , the cyber capital of the world and home of the Telegu Film Industry. Richa has already bagged two more Telegu film offers under large production banners and with top heroes. Her shoots for the next films begin early May and go on over the summer months. They will always in our fond memory and will guide us.

Richa crowned in world pageant Richa Gangopadhyay daughter of Utpal and Paula was crowned Miss India USA 2007. Congratulations Richa !! The New Delhi-born Northville resident beat 23 contestants from other states last month in Fords, N.J., in gaining the national title. The Miss India pageants, founded in 1980, are held in 25 countries and open to young women of Indian descent. Richa showcased her talent in Indian music, dance and won the hearts of all attendees. Incidentaly, her parents are also winners of Wills Made for Each Other Contest, 10 years back. More details here...
P.K Guha in US Hall of Fame for Cricket The "USA Cricket Hall of Fame" is a 25 year old independent organization based in Hartford Connecticut. Each year the induct the old legendary Cricketers from all Cricket playing nation, into the USA CRICKET HALL OF FAME. In past they have inducted Sir Frank Worrell, Sir Gary Sobers, Viv Richard, Greg Chappell, Sunil Gavaskar, Vishwanath, Michael Holding and many many cricket stawlwarts. They also induct people from various part of the world for the service such person/s may have provided for the world Cricket. P.K-da has been nominated for this year along with Tony Greig, Abid Ali and Posthumously Kerry Packers.
